St. Louis PTC - Nebraska Advanced STD Intensive Course
Course Description: This course is designed to provide state-of-the-art training in the field of sexually transmitted diseases (STDs), with an emphasis on clinical diagnosis, treatment and prevention. Using evidence-based guidelines from the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), this course will review current issues related to the epidemiology, clinical presentation, diagnostic strategies, and appropriate treatment regimens for syphilis, gonorrhea, chlamydia and other STDs.
Objectives: By the end of this presentation, learners will be able to: 1) Discuss current understandings of STD clinical presentation, diagnosis, and treatment. 2) Describe current epidemiological trends and resistance patterns for STD pathogens. 3) Utilize 2015 CDC Treatment Guidelines for STD treatment and prevention 4) discussion methods to engage adolescents in STD prevention.
